Mission Statement
It is the specific mission of MSU's Center for Resource Planning and Management (CRPM) to:
- Provide public outreach services in planning and community development and to assist in development of public policy on resource utilization
- Enhance and support the University's academic programs in planning by providing undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity for hands- on participation in community planning and development projects
- Support and create opportunities for applied research and continuing professional development in the field of planning.
The CRPM supports Missouri State University's mission of producing educated persons and providing public service, with a focus on the University's themes of public affairs and economic development.
Public Outreach Services
The CRPM provides a range of planning and community development services to local governments and public agencies, including:

- Community Opinion Surveys and Community Needs Assessments
- Zoning and Subdivision Regulations
- Computerized Mapping Services/Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping
- Grant Writing and Grant Administration
- Educational Services--Workshops and Training Sessions on Planning Related Topics
- Advisory and Informational Services
- Regional Clearinghouse Review (for state and federally funded projects)
- Affiliate Data Center of the Missouri State Census Data Center
- Administrative Agent of the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG)
